Each year I photograph a number of High School Seniors. We used to call these High School Portraits but the lingo has changed over time to High School Pictures but now the kids are just calling them Senior Pics – I call this the Twitter Effect 🙂
My first Senior Pics of the season are of Rachel Cala who will be a senior at Coral Reef Senior High School in the Fall. When I photograph Seniors, I really try to work with them so that each student receives something really unique. I sit down with them and their parents and explain that I can do classic, studio style photos or we can get creative and have a lot of fun with it. Rachel decided she wanted her pics outside in a natural setting so she, her Mom and younger sister Melissa spent the evening last week at South Pointe Park. We really lucked out with the weather and a beautiful sunset.
Rachel did a fantastic job of posing…she’s much more skilled at posing than I’m used to with High School Seniors. She admitted that she had been studying fashion magazines to work on her poses. And she did a great job on her hair and make-up–which she did entirely herself.
Here are just a few of my favorite from our session (please keep in mind that these are un-edited) but all the un-edited proofs can be viewed by clicking this link. You’ll need a password which you can get from Rachel.
